ABOUT SANDRA
Sandra Arango works as a chamber/orchestra musician, educator and manager. His musical studies in interpretation of the viola were carried out at the Tolima Conservatory, the National University of Colombia and the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (Austria) where he studied under the mentorship of the renowned violist Thomas Riebl. He has received viola master classes with renowned teachers such as Joseph de Pasquale, Veronica Hagen, Diemut Poppen, Wilfried Strehle, Predrag Katanic, Aníbal Dos Santos, among others.

His chamber music activity has been carried out since 2010 with the Q-Arte Quartet, one of the most recognized quartets in Latin America (Nominated for the Latin Grammy 2020 and The Classical: NEXT Innovation Award 2018, the Netherlands) dedicated to the exploration, dissemination and interpretation of academic and contemporary music.
IN ORCHESTRA
As an orchestral musician, she has been invited to play with the Salzburg Chamber Soloist, Salzburg Kammer Philharmonie, Camerata Salzburg, Junge Philharmonie Salzburg, Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Praga Kammer Philharmonie, Koreanischen Philharmonie, etc.
AS A TEACHER
In the field of teaching, he has been building a school for 14 years and offering master classes in different national and international institutions, such as the Virtual Course for String Quartets 2021 Mexico, 1 Chile International Viola Festival (Virtual), Chile Music Festival Aguascalientes-Mexico Chamber (Virtual), etc…
AS CULTURAL MANAGER
Her vocation as a manager has led her to create the Interviolas Bogotá Festival, which began in 2010 and together with the Q-Arte Quartet she founded the FestiQ-Artetos International String Quartet Festival and the National String Quartet Composition Contest. It is worth noting the management that he has carried out for 13 years in the Q-Arte Quartet, together with his colleagues.

VIOLA-COLOMBIA
Sandra works as a chamber/orchestra musician, educator and manager. His musical studies in interpretation of the viola were carried out at the Tolima Conservatory, the National University of Colombia and the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (Austria) where he studied under the mentorship of the renowned violist Thomas Riebl. He has received viola master classes with renowned teachers such as Joseph de Pasquale, Veronica Hagen, Diemut Poppen, Wilfried Strehle, Predrag Katanic, Aníbal Dos Santos, among others. Expanding his chamber music training, he completed a postgraduate degree in chamber music at the Pontifical Javeriana University with maestro Richard Young, violist of the American Vermer Quartet. In this field, he has received classes with members of the Hagen Quartet, Borodin Quartet, Casal Quartet, Kronos Quartet, Latin American Quartet, Avalon String Quartet, Miami String Quartet and Quiroga Quartet. She was awarded in two national competitions in 1997 and 2000, obtaining first place in the «Roberto Mantilla Álvarez Young Performers Competition» held by the Colombian Symphony Orchestra and second place in the «Competition for violists» held by the Luis Ángel Library. Sandra is currently studying a Doctorate in Music with an emphasis in Performance at the University of Aveiro (Portugal) and a specialization in Cultural Management at the Uniminuto University.

IN CHAMBER
His chamber music activity has been carried out since 2010 with the Q-Arte Quartet, one of the most recognized quartets in Latin America (Nominated for the Latin Grammy 2020 and The Classical: NEXT Innovation Award 2018, the Netherlands) dedicated to the exploration, dissemination and interpretation of Latin American academic and contemporary music. With the quartet he has participated in important festivals and concerts in Colombia, the United States, Europe and Latin America and has recorded the music of renowned Colombian and Latin American composers. In 2017, she was invited by the Bogotá International Music Festival to play with soloists Julian Rachlin, Alexander Buzlov, Alissa Margulis, Sara McElravy and Daniel Müller Schot, and in 2022 with the Women’s Philharmonic Quintet, a group dedicated to the interpretation of Colombian music.

It is worth mentioning his performance as a soloist in Colombia with the most renowned orchestras, including the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra, the Colombian Symphony Orchestra, the Cali Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bogotá Symphony Orchestra Foundation.
He is currently a member of the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra.
